10kV Permanent Magnet Motorized Pulleys for Belt Conveyor

Project Overview

Amid the accelerating green transformation of industries, reducing energy consumption and improving system stability have become critical challenges for high-energy-consuming sectors.
Jiangsu JASUNG and WASHI Group jointly developed the world's first 10kV high-voltage permanent magnet direct-drive motorized pulley, which has been successfully deployed in bulk applications. In WASHI Group's annual 20-million-ton aggregate and manufactured sand project, the system has been operating stably for over a year, fully validating the reliability and outstanding performance of this globally leading technology under heavy-duty conditions. This milestone demonstrates that high-voltage permanent magnet motorized pulleys are providing a more efficient, safer, and smarter ultimate system solution for heavy-load conveying applications.

Product Advantages
As a leading regional manufacturer of cement and aggregate products, WASHI Group has always been at the forefront of green transformation and intelligent manufacturing. In this project, a total of 72 JASUNG permanent magnet motorized pulleys (both high and low voltage) were deployed, including 8 world-first 10kV high-voltage permanent magnet motorized pulleys, specifically applied in WASHI Group’s long-distance belt conveyor main system. Compared to traditional low-voltage asynchronous motor drive solutions, this innovative approach delivers significant advantages:

  • Higher Conveying Efficiency
    Conveying capacity is greatly increased, reaching 5,000 t/h.
  • Overall Energy Savings
    Comprehensive power savings of up to 22%, reducing electricity consumption per ton of clinker from 1.8 kW·h/t to 1.4 kW·h/t.
  • Lower Maintenance Costs
    Maintenance cost ratio decreased from 15% to 3.5%.
  • Space Savings
    Integrated structural design saves over 70% of space, significantly simplifying on-site construction.

Project Highlights
From feasibility assessment and design development to system delivery and field validation, the joint R&D team formed by JASUNG and WASHI Group achieved substantial breakthroughs across multiple technical aspects. The success of the high-voltage permanent magnet motorized pulley solution lies in comprehensive technological advancements. During implementation, the team effectively overcame key challenges such as temperature rise control, electromagnetic compatibility, and startup stability under long-distance, heavy-load conditions.
After 12 consecutive months of industrial operation validation, the equipment demonstrated excellent performance, fully showcasing JASUNG’s technological leadership in high-voltage permanent magnet motorized pulleys.

Applications

The batch deployment of JASUNG’s 10kV permanent magnet motorized pulleys has established a mature and replicable model, particularly suitable for the following scenarios:

  • High-power, continuous-operation industries such as aggregates, cement, metallurgy, mining, and ports;
  • Long-distance, steep-angle, and high-load belt conveying conditions;
  • New construction or retrofit projects with high demands for energy efficiency, safety, and space optimization.
