From Crushing to Grinding, JASUNG Drives the Entire Process of Liberia Iron Ore Project!
In the Liberia Iron Ore Project, JASUNG provided a full suite of permanent magnet drive solutions covering crushing, conveying, pressing, and grinding. The high-voltage, high-power products ensure stable and efficient operation throughout the core stages of the mining process.

Full-process Drive Coverage
1
Crushing Section
The crusher is equipped with a dedicated permanent magnet motor, featuring a compact structure and high starting torque. It enables rapid operation under heavy-load and high-impact conditions, ensuring stable crushing of large raw ore blocks. By reducing intermediate transmission chains, it enhances equipment output and reliability.

Conveying Section
The belt conveyor uses Jasung permanent-magnet electric pulleys, offering high integration and transmission efficiency superior to traditional drives. Its features are:
• No gears or couplings required, simple structure, and low maintenance;
• Improved transmission efficiency, significantly reduced energy consumption, and enhanced reliability;
• Suitable for various operating conditions: whether high or low voltage, ultra-low speed or high speed, and power ranging from hundreds of kilowatts to several thousand kilowatts, Jasung can provide full coverage.
Jasung has so far achieved a single-unit power breakthrough of 2000 kW and maintains an industry record, meeting the long-distance, high-capacity conveying needs of overseas mines.

Roller press section
A 3.15 MW high-pressure semi-direct-drive permanent magnet motor directly drives the roller press, delivering high torque and features strong shock resistance and high overload capability. Compared with traditional drive solutions, the transmission chain is shorter, equipment response is faster, and it can effectively improve the stability and energy efficiency of the crushing stage.

Grinding Section
The 1.5MW high-voltage semi-direct drive permanent magnet motor powers the tower mill, ensuring smooth operation and delivering low-speed, high-torque output to maintain stable continuous grinding processes. Its high-power-density design not only reduces equipment footprint but also reserves space for future capacity expansion and system upgrades.

Through the coordinated application of permanent magnet motors for crushers, permanent magnet motorized drums, semi-direct drive permanent magnet motors for roller presses, and semi-direct drive permanent magnet motors for tower mills, JASUNG has achieved integrated drive optimization across the entire process chain—from ore crushing, conveying, and pressing to grinding—forming a complete permanent magnet drive solution.
Value of High-Voltage & High-Power Technology
The permanent magnet motors deployed in this project cover a power range of 1.5MW to 3.15MW, with high-voltage and high-power products at the core, demonstrating JASUNG's outstanding capabilities in heavy-duty applications within the iron ore and steel industry chains:
• Improved Efficiency: System energy efficiency increased by over 20%, delivering significant long-term energy savings.
• Enhanced Reliability: Direct-drive/semi-direct-drive solutions reduce failure points such as gearboxes, lowering downtime rates.
• Strong Heavy-Duty Adaptability: High torque output ensures continuous heavy-load operation of mining equipment, guaranteeing production stability.
Global Expansion Efforts
The Liberia Iron Ore Project not only validates the stability and adaptability of JASUNG's permanent magnet direct-drive technology in complex overseas working conditions but also highlights the company's engineering implementation and delivery capabilities for full-process drive solutions in iron ore operations. With the rollout of more international projects, JASUNG is steadily extending its technical advantages in "high-voltage, high-power, full-process" solutions to the global mining market.
In this process, JASUNG actively responds to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, bringing its permanent magnet direct-drive solutions across oceans to Africa, contributing to a future vision of green energy and smart mining on the continent. Together with global partners, JASUNG is driving the transition toward low-carbon and sustainable mining practices.
